About

DYSD was created as a jumping off point for a sorely lacking art scene in Saskatchewan. Designed to make you question your ethics, morality and ability to survive in a society that controls what you hear, think, see and feel.

The desire for new and exciting sound is instrumental in the process to reach a higher state of conscienceness in both mind and body.

This artistic movement can be broken down in three primary goals within DYSD.

  1. Art. Visual art in any form can be informative and thought-provoking. Detailed or abstract, art must contain life and soul.
  2. Music. Hearing a lyric or sound that invokes emotion is surreal. It’s the answer to everyone’s question. It’s the reason people live. Unfortanately, pop-culture seems to dictate that to enjoy music, you must remain stupid. This is your chance to change that.
  3. Graphic Design/Apparel. This combines both 1 & 2. How can you change something without having some sort of medium to change it? What you wear can reflect who you are and what you think, whether it’s a fan, or a contributor to something greater.

Aaron Olson

Aaron started off interpreting his thoughts onto canvas and paper at a young age. That quickly led the way into computer graphics and design. Now, manipulation and creation of various fields in the form of visual and aural art. He is the primary artist involved in DYSD’s graphic design side, including flyer design, menu’s, logo’s and marketing, with the help of Advertising Specialist, Sarah Vallim. See portfolio to get a grasp of just what he is capable of.

Currently, alongside photographer Sarah Miller, they have carefully created their own fan-based art for the band Nine Inch Nails. They have updated older Nine Inch Nails album art for the new “Year Zero” world and placed them on T-shirts for distribution.

Besides running and creating for DYSD, Aaron also writes music. He’s been working on a industrial/electronic/metal album for the past few years along with recording partner Tam Huynh under the band name of Drag Your Self Down.

An echo of what his life used to be is prepared carefully in his dance music project under the name of Darjis. A pulsing, pounding energetic romp into electronic music.

Sarah Miller

An art major in college, Sarah Miller has always had a unique artistic eye. Using art as a form of expression, Sarah first started experimenting with photography as a way to show others how she sees the world we live in. With only a few years experience under her belt, she was contacted by various bands to do work on promotional and album artwork, and has since made photography more than a hobby. Passionate about her work, Sarah works to create art that others enjoy, while still expressing herself. For further information on Sarah Miller, please go to her website .
